The aim of the competition is to encourage research and learning about traditions, expand knowledge about the intangible cultural heritage of southwestern Greater Poland, and strengthen intergenerational ties, integration and regional identity.

The participants' task is to present any elements of tradition from the area of southwestern Greater Poland in a chosen form:
  • written
  • photographic

Tradition, or what?

We understand tradition as phenomena that are passed down from generation to generation and are important to the local community. Participants' attention should focus on personal experience or well-known and practiced traditions from their immediate surroundings. These may be holiday traditions, annual traditions, family traditions, customs, rituals, traditions related to the culture of the village or city, school traditions, professional traditions, traditions related to free time, creativity, handicrafts, crafts, but also culinary, music and dance, linguistic or other traditions. It is worth interviewing your loved ones, older people, and asking what traditions they celebrate and pass on.
